Bloomberg estimates the team is worth $1.3 billion, despite reportedly losing  $144 million in 2014, but could fetch closer to the $2 billion Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer paid for the Los Angeles Clippers last summer.

Prokhorov became the first foreign NBA owner after paying $220 million for the team in 2010. He holds an 80 percent share of the Nets and 45 percent share of the Barclays Center.
