Toronto Raptors star forward Kawhi Leonard has joined New Balance on a multi-year endorsement deal, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.
Leonard, who declined a four-year contract extension with Jordan Brand in March, is expected to be the face of New Balance as the shoe company tries to reinsert itself into the basketball market. The 27-year-old told Sportsnet’s Eric Smith that the deal is not official as of Wednesday.
ESPN’s Nick DePaula reported in July that the brand also had strong interest in endorsing Boston Celtics‘ Gordon Hayward, but the forward chose to sign with Chinese sportswear brand Anta instead.
