Raps trading Gay to Kings in multi-player deal

After many thought Masai Ujiri had run out of potential suitors for Rudy Gay, the move proves he is serious about putting his mark on the team.

The Toronto Raptors are trading Rudy Gay to the Sacramento Kings as part of a seven-player blockbuster.

The Raptors will receive Chuck Hayes, Greivis Vasquez, John Salmons and Patrick Patterson from the Kings while they will include Aaron Gray and Quincy Acy as part of the Gay package.

The deal will be finalized after both teams make the trade call to the league office tomorrow.

Gay is being paid $17.8 million this season and has a player option for the 2014-15 season that will pay him over $19 million.

The 27-year-old is averaging 19.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game on a career-low 39 percent shooting.

There will likely be more movement from the Raptors as this deal puts them over the max roster limit.
