Houston Rockets star guard James Harden won’t be participating at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Harden is choosing not to participate to get ready for the 2019-20 NBA season after the Rockets made a big trade to acquire the 2018 MVP’s old Oklahoma City Thunder teammate, Russell Westbrook.

Harden has already won a gold medal with the United States in both the FIBA World Championships in 2014 and the London 2012 Olympics.

The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup is set to start on Aug. 31. The United States were drawn into Group E of the tournament alongside Turkey, the Czech Republic and Japan.
