The San Antonio Spurs held a players-only meeting imploring Kawhi Leonard to return to action and solidify their playoff positioning, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting.

Tony Parker is said to have led the meeting and the conversation was described as ‘tense and emotional.’

The Spurs (42-30) are currently sixth in the Western Conference but have one of the toughest schedules to close out the season as only two of their final 11 games come against teams under .500.

Leonard has played in only nine games in 2017-18 after averaging 25.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.8 steals over 74 games and finishing third in MVP voting a season ago.
