The Washington Wizards have agreed to trade Markieff Morris and a 2023 second-round pick to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Wesley Johnson, according to Shams Charania and David Aldridge of The Athletic.

It is appearing more and more unlikely that the Pelicans are looking to deal Anthony Davis and could now be looking to bolster their roster to join the playoff hunt.

Washington appears to be gutting the roster and clearing salary to rebuild upon the news that John Wall will likely miss most of the 2019-20 season after rupturing his Achilles and are now under the luxury tax threshold.

Despite that, Charania reported that the Wizards have no plans to trade all-star Bradley Beal before the deadline.
