The Jimmy Butler trade saga appears to have legs again.
Despite no deal being imminent Wednesday, The Miami Heat are pushing the Minnesota Timberwolves to accept a deal for the disgruntled forward, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Minnesota is reportedly interested in acquiring forward Josh Richardson, centre Bam Adebayo and a protected first-round pick in exchange for the four-time all-star. The franchise is also looking to unload Gorgui Dieng and the $48 million remaining on his contract.
Wojnarowski also revealed that the Houston Rockets are also believed to still be in the mix.
President of Basketball Operations and head coach Tom Thibodeau is still of the mind that Butler can be retained, and is expected to push for him to return to practice and get set for the season.
Sources: Barring a trade, Tom Thibodeau is still determined to get Butler back with the team for start of season. Butler hasn't made a final decision on when he'll join team and practice, but he doesn't plan to miss regular season games if his wrist is healthy. https://t.co/iQypvZ88ad

The 29-year-old reportedly has no intention of missing any games, as long as his surgically repaired right wrist stops experiencing soreness.
