On Wednesday night, San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich took the night off and handed over the reins of his team to star point guard Tony Parker as he was in street clothes for the game.
With the score tied up at nine in the closing moments Parker drew up a play designed for fellow Frenchman Nando de Colo to hit the winning shot and the Spurs rookie subsequently did just that.
At practice on Thursday, Parker took a playful dig at his coach.
“It’s easy to do Pop’s job,” Parker told the San Antonio Express-News.“He’s a little bit overpaid, I think. That’s just my opinion.”
