It turns out coaching a team featuring an all-star starting five makes life easy after all. Just ask Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.
With his team’s 115-111 win over the Boston Celtics on Saturday — Golden State’s 10th straight victory — Kerr became the fastest coach in American sports history to reach 300 career wins, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
Kerr needed just 377 games to set the new record.
On top of a 300-77 regular season record since beginning his Warriors head coaching tenure in 2014, Kerr also has a combined eight NBA titles to his name. He won five as a player with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, then added three more to his resume after taking over as Golden State’s coach.
