DALLAS — Amare Stoudemire has been fined $15,000 by the NBA for verbally abusing an official and not leaving the court in a timely manner after he was ejected from the Dallas Mavericks’ last game.

The NBA announced the fine Saturday, a day after Stoudemire’s automatic ejection for getting two technical fouls in the Mavericks’ 112-101 home loss to Memphis.

Midway through the third quarter, Stoudemire disputed an offensive foul with referee Scott Foster and was assessed two technical fouls. Dallas coach Rick Carlisle also received a technical from Foster during that stoppage of play.

After the game, Stoudemire said he had "never received two techs that quick in my career."
