Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard suffered a dislocated finger in Game 2 of his team’s first-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The injury occurred late in the third quarter when Lillard made contact with Lakers centre Anthony Davis while going for a steal.

Lillard did not return to the game but X-rays were negative.

The five-time all-star has taken his play to a new level since the NBA season’s resumption in the Disney bubble, winning MVP of the seeding games before guiding his team to a Game 1 win over the Lakers on Tuesday. He recorded 18 points prior to his exit in Game 2.

Initial reports suggest Lillard is expected to be available for Game 3 of the series on Saturday.
