In the event that you’ve been living under a rock for the past 15-plus hours, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics made a kinda-sorta-gigantic trade sending Kyrie Irving to Beantown for Isaiah Thomas.
This deal is fascinating for a myriad of reasons, but looking outside of the obvious basketball implications and the sizzle that opening night now has, the simple fact that Thomas is now a teammate of LeBron James is particularly interesting.
Seven years ago, when he was still a sophomore at the University of Washington, Thomas was decidedly not a James fan and, in light of his move to Cleveland, NBA fans decided to dig up some old tweets of his and poke fun at him.

Thomas sent out those Kobe-over-LeBron tweets at the height of the two superstars’ supposed rivalry and, clearly, Thomas was on Team Kobe.
Since getting into the NBA, however, the five-foot-nine point guard has appeared to change his tune on James, tweeting about how much he respects the then-Miami Heat star shortly after he played him for the first time in 2012.

All water under the bridge now, right?
