Vince Carter says he could beat Michael Jordan in a dunk contest

Vince Carter made all eight of his shots, including six from beyond the arc, to score a season-high 22 points and lead the Memphis Grizzlies past the Milwaukee Bucks 113-93 on Monday night.

You have to love the old man version of Vince Carter.

Just a few weeks ago he used his elbow to teach a younger player to respect elders. Then on Monday night, the 40-year-old scored a season-high 24 points in the Memphis Grizzlies’ win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

The next day Carter was still feeling himself after putting up his most points in a game since Feb. 13, 2013. During a guest spot on The Dan Patrick Show, the former Toronto Raptor gave his thoughts on facing Michael Jordan in a dunk contest.

“I like me in a dunk contest, I can’t step down from that one,” Carter said Tuesday, when asked if he could beat Jordan if they were both 24 years old. “Greatest player of all time? I give it to Mike.”

However, Carter conceded that he was nervous even speaking about the hyper-competitive Jordan in such a manner.

“My legs are shivering over here,” said Carter. “I don’t want to see Mike and he’s like ‘Yo you think you can outdunk me?’”
