The Washington Wizards will be without starting small forward Otto Porter Jr. for the remainder of their series against the Toronto Raptors, according to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post.
Porter Jr. was playing through a contusion in his left calf, but the build up of blood flow in the area has forced this small procedure.
The 24-year-old was a key contributor for the Wizards during the regular season, finishing with the league’s third-best three-point percentage at 44.1 per cent on 4.1 attempts while averaging a career-best 14.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals in his fifth season.
The injury clearly hindered his effectiveness in the playoffs, where he averaged 10 points, five rebounds and attempted just 2.4 threes over five games.
Kelly Oubre Jr., who called out Delon Wright after Game 5, is likely to pick up the start.
The Raptors have the chance to close out the series in Washington with a 3-2 series lead going into Game 6, and will have home court for a Game 7 if necessary.
