Former NBA player Renaldo Balkman had a historic meltdown in the Phillipines on Friday night.
Balkman, who spent time with the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks but is now plying his trade for the Petron Blaze Boosters of the PBA, went ballistic after not getting a call from a referee.
He first confronted the official with a bump but then pushed aside his coach and teammates who were trying to diffuse the situation. Balkman eventually grabbed team captain Arwind Santos by the throat in a scene being compared to the Latrell Sprewell-P.J. Carlesimo incident when both were with the Golden State Warriors.
The announcer described it as, “He’s strangling Arwind Santos!”
