Former middleweight champion Anderson Silva and popular veteran Michael Bisping have been entertaining UFC fans since 2006 but their paths had never crossed.

That changed Saturday when they met in the main event of a UFC Fight Night event in London, England.

The two men traded strikes for five full rounds, momentum swinging back and forth like a bloody pendulum. In the end, Bisping upset Silva via unanimous decision to pick up the biggest win of his career and in doing so passed Silva for most middleweight wins in UFC history with 14. Also, the Brit is now tied with Matt Hughes for second most total victories in UFC competition with 18 — Georges St-Pierre remains first all-time at 19 victories.

Not surprisingly, the pair were awarded Fight of the Night bonuses. Here are some highlights from their epic encounter.

Fights fans and fellow fighters were thoroughly entertained by the five-round bout and let their feelings be known on social media.

Many watching, including UFC president Dana White, thought Silva had done enough to win and should’ve been awarded with the decision.
