Demetrious Johnson will look to defend his UFC flyweight title for a seventh consecutive time when he takes on John Dodson in the main event of UFC 191 on Sept. 5 in Las Vegas.
The UFC made the announcement Wednesday night.
Johnson (22-2-1) is the only champion the UFC’s 125-pound division has ever known and is coming off back-to-back impressive submission wins over Kyoji Horiguchi and Chris Cariaso.
Meanwhile, Dodson (17-6) has won three straight and earned the shot at Johnson’s belt with a decision win over Zach Makovsky at UFC 187 in May.
Dodson has won eight of his last nine and his only loss since 2009 was a unanimous decision to Johnson in January of 2013.
Also on the card, top light-heavyweight contender Anthony “Rumble” Johnson takes on Poland’s Jan Blachowicz, rising strawweight star Paige VanZant meets veteran Alex Chambers, plus John Lineker and Francisco Rivera clash in a bantamweight bout.
