Ronda Rousey will look to defend her women’s bantamweight title against Bethe Correia in the main event of UFC 190 on Aug. 1 in Brazil.
UFC president made the bout, which will take place at the HSBC Arena Rio de Janeiro, official at a press event Friday.
Rousey (11-0) is coming off the most dominant win of her mixed martial arts career, as it took her a mere 14 seconds to submit Cat Zingano last month at UFC 184. In fact, Rousey’s last three fights have lasted a total of just 96 seconds. UFC 190 will be only the second time Rousey has competed outside the United States in MMA – she defeated Canadian Charmaine Tweet in Calgary in her second professional bout back in 2011.

Correia (9-0) is riding the momentum of a TKO win over Rousey’s training partner Shayna Baszler at UFC 177 last August. Correia, 31, is known for her punch-heavy style that has led to her going 3-0 in the UFC. The Brazilian, who will be a massive underdog heading into the event, has called out Rousey on numerous occasions over the past year.
A light-heavyweight between popular veterans Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has also been added to the card. Rua and Nogueira are each coming off quick knockout losses to Ovince St. Preux and Anthony Johnson, respectively. These two Brazilians met a decade ago at PRIDE Critical Countdown 2005 in what was considered one of the best fights in the history of the defunct Japanese organization. Rua won a unanimous decision in their first meeting.
