Cody Fajardo’s stay on the injured list was a short one, with the Montreal Alouettes pulling their starting quarterback from the six-game list.
Fajardo will be returning to practice ahead of Montreal’s game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Friday.
The Alouettes quarterback was initially placed on the six-game injured list after suffering a hamstring injury against the Toronto Argonauts. He missed the Alouettes’ following game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Teams can remove players from the six-game injured list before the full period but will not get salary cap relief for pulling them off earlier.
Fajardo has completed 77.5 per cent of his passes for 1,636 yards, 10 touchdowns, and four interceptions through six games this season.
Montreal has been off to a strong start this season with a 6-1 record as it looks to defend its Grey Cup title.
Caleb Evans started in Fajardo’s place against Saskatchewan but was replaced at halftime by Davis Alexander who led a second-half comeback for the Alouettes.
