The Montreal Alouettes have placed veteran quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. on the six-game injured list with tendinitis in his throwing elbow.

The 29-year-old was previously placed on the one-game injured list with the ailment, which forced him to miss the team's game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Trevor Harris took over the starting quarterback job after Adams Jr. missed Montreal's Week 3 game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders after testing positive for COVID-19.

Dominique Davis was promoted to the backup role behind Harris and threw an interception on the final play of the Alouettes' 24-17 loss to the Tiger-Cats after Harris was removed by the concussion spotter.

Adams Jr. has started two of the five games he has played this season throwing for 294 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
