The Montreal Alouettes signed quarterback Cameron Dukes and placed McLeod Bethel-Thompson on the six-game injured list on Wednesday.
Dukes arrives in Montreal after playing two seasons with the Toronto Argonauts before he was cut from training camp this year.
The 27-year-old American completed 143-of-199 passes for 1,444 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 321 yards and four majors while filling in for suspended QB Chad Kelly in 2024.
Bethel-Thompson will miss time with a hurt right elbow, joining starter Davis Alexander (hamstring) on the injured list.
The 37-year-old Bethel-Thompson, acquired for Cody Fajardo from the Edmonton Elks last off-season in a QB swap, has completed 100-of-153 passes while throwing four TDs and five interceptions this season.
He has a 1-4 record for the 5-4 Alouettes, who have struggled without Alexander in the lineup. The Alouettes switched to third-string quarterback Caleb Evans in the second half of last week's 23-22 loss to Edmonton.
