The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have acquired defensive back Alden Darby from the Toronto Argonauts in exchange for offensive lineman Terry Poole.

Darby has appeared in 43 career games for the Argonauts, recording eight interceptions, including a career-high five in 2019. The 29-year-old helped Toronto win the Grey Cup in 2017.
The trade comes with the team announcing that defensive back Mercy Maston will miss the season after suffering a torn Achilles at practice on Sunday.
Poole signed with the Blue Bombers on June 25th after spending the 2020 season in the XFL with the Houston Roughnecks. The 2015 fourth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks also had brief stints with the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans before playing in the AAF for the San Diego Fleet in 2019.
