The CFL off-season is in full swing and so comes the usual flurry of moves as teams try to assemble their rosters while staying within budget.
Fortunately for teams, there is more money to go around as the league announced an increase in the salary cap up to $6.06 million.
It's a $412,365 increase from last year's limit of $5.525 million, with a reported $18-million boost in league revenues triggering the substantial salary cap bump.
Prior to the official start of free agency, many players reached agreements in principle with other teams last week during the CFL's open-window period. In the exclusive 48-hour window, teams were allowed to speak with players who were slated to hit the open market.
