The CFL season is only two weeks old, but a few teams are already dealing with injury issues to some star players.
The Ottawa Redblacks will head into their Week 3 matchup against the Calgary Stampeders without starting QB Dru Brown after the team ruled him out on Thursday.
Brown practised in a limited capacity this week as he works his way back from a hip injury he suffered in a Week 1 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The 26-year-old pivot also missed the Redblacks' 39-18 Week 2 loss to the Montreal Alouettes.
With Brown limited, Dustin Crum took the first team reps this week at practice and is expected to start against Stamps.
Over in Winnipeg, last year's MOP and Most Outstanding Canadian, Brady Oliveira, has been ruled out by the Blue Bombers for their Week 3 contest against the BC Lions.
The star running back left early in Winnipeg's season opener against the Lions last week. He had two rushes for 49 yards before being forced to leave due to a shoulder injury.
On the other sidelines, the Lions enter the Week 3 rematch with the Blue Bombers with injury issues of their own, as star QB Nathan Rourke is listed as questionable due to an oblique injury.
Rourke completed 12-of-17 passes for 249 yards and one touchdown before exiting in the fourth quarter of last week's 34-20 loss to Winnipeg.
If Rourke is unable to suit up, veteran signal caller Jeremiah Masoli is expected to start.
