It looks like B.C. Lions star quarterback Nathan Rourke will spend another week on the sideline.
Listed on Friday as a game-time decision for Saturday's road contest against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Rourke (oblique injury) was named the third-string quarterback hours before opening kickoff.
That means veteran Jeremiah Masoli will start his second game in a row for the Lions (1-2). He threw for 281 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in a loss against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Chase Brice is the Lions' backup.
The Roughriders (3-0) also are starting a backup quarterback — Jake Maier — with starter Trevor Harris out with a head injury/illness.
The CFL now has its final two games of Week 4 featuring all backup quarterbacks as starters.
The Ottawa Redblacks' Dustin Crum faces the Toronto Argonauts' Nick Arbuckle in the Week 4 finale on Sunday.
