Saskatchewan is bringing back one of its stars for their championship defence season.
The Roughriders have signed running back A.J. Ouellette to a one-year contract extension, the team announced Sunday.
A two-time CFL all-star, Ouellette was a key piece for the reigning Grey Cup champion Riders, recording 83 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in the big game.
Ouellette, 30, finished second in the CFL in rushing yards in the regular season, only behind Calgary's Dedrick Mills.
The five-foot-eight back recorded 1,222 yards and nine total touchdowns in 17 regular-season games, his second season rushing for over 1,000 yards.
Undrafted in the NFL out of Ohio, Ouellette spent the first four years of his CFL career with the Toronto Argonauts, before signing a two-year deal with Saskatchewan in 2024.
