The Calgary Stampeders won't have their star quarterback for their Week 13 contest.
Vernon Adams Jr. will miss Saturday's home game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats with a head injury after being listed as limited in practice all week.
Josh Love, 29, who joined the Stamps last season, was placed atop the depth chart released Friday and will make his first career start.
Adams Jr. was injured in Calgary's last game on Aug. 13 when he hit his head on the turf following a rush against the B.C. Lions.
Love replaced Adams and was six-for-10 for 58 yards with one interception in a 30-26 loss.
Adams has thrown for 22 touchdowns and just two interceptions this year for the Stampeders (4-6).
Love, a San Jose State product, bounced around the USFL and UFL before heading to Calgary.
The Tiger-Cats (4-7) will also start a backup QB — Canadian Tre Ford. Ticats starter Bo Levi Mitchell is out with a long-term ankle injury
