The CFL just can't catch a break when it comes to injuries early in the 2025 season.
Calgary Stampeders star receiver Reggie Begelton became the latest big offensive player to go down, suffering an apparent lower-body injury in the first quarter of Saturday's Week 2 game against the Toronto Argonauts.
Begelton was helped off the field after a play in which he was blocking. He was later on crutches on the sideline.
Begelton, 31, caught 92 passes for 1,150 yards and four touchdowns last year, earning a third career appearance on the all-CFL team.
Later, Argos star linebacker Wynton McManis exited with an knee injury. He is a two-time CFL all-star.
Ottawa Redblacks quarterback Dru Brown, B.C. Lions QB Nathan Rourke and Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Brady Oliveira are some of the other big names to have suffered injuries this season.
