The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have named Dane Evans as their starting quarterback to face the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Grey Cup on Sunday.
Head coach Orlondo Steinauer announced his starter during media day on Wednesday.
The decision comes after Evans replaced Jeremiah Masoli in the East final this past Sunday and guided Hamilton to a 27-19 victory over the Toronto Argonauts. Evans finished the game with a 100 per cent completion percentage (16-for-16) for 249 yards and three total touchdowns (one pass, two rushing).
Evans also started the 107th Grey Cup in 2019, which the Tiger-Cats lost to the Blue Bombers.
