Evans appeared in 10 games last season throwing for 787 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions to help the Tiger-Cats reach their second-straight Grey Cup appearance. He completed four of nine passes for 21 yards against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers before leaving the championship game with an injury.

“We are excited that Dane and his family have chosen to stay in Hamilton for the next two seasons,” president of football operations and head coach Orlondo Steinauer said in a statement. “Dane is not just an outstanding quarterback, but an outstanding human being. His work ethic and authentic leadership skills make him someone that teammates naturally appreciate.”
Evans joined the Tiger-Cats in 2017 after playing with the University of Tulsa where he had 11,680 yards, 84 touchdowns and 47 interceptions in 46 career games with the Golden Hurricane.
