Canadian curling greats Glenn Howard and Team Randy Ferbey are heading into the World Curling Hall of Fame, World Curling announced Thursday.
The 64-year-old Howard won gold in all four of his appearances at the world men’s championship, twice playing third for his brother, Russ, a 2015 Hall inductee, and twice as a skip.
His 25-year span between his first world title in 1987 and his last in 2012 is the longest in the history of the event.
The Edmonton-based Ferbey Four won four Brier championships in five years and three world titles during a dominant run in the early 2000s.
Vice-skip David Nedohin, second Scott Pfeifer and lead Marcel Rocque will join skip Randy Ferbey, who was inducted individually in 2014, with the foursome becoming just the sixth complete team to enter the Hall.
Hungary’s Gyorgy Nagy, who helped develop curling and mixed doubles in his country, is also being inducted as a builder.
