Mackenzie Zacharias and her team from Altona are just one victory away from returning to the national Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
Zacharias, who skipped the Wild Card Two squad last season in the bubble, will take on Kristy Watling’s Winnipeg-based club during Sunday’s Manitoba provincial women’s curling championship final in Carberry.
The winner will represent Manitoba at the 2022 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Jan. 28 to Feb. 6, in Thunder Bay, Ont.

Watling defeated Kaitlyn Jones’s team from Winnipeg 8-6 during the morning semifinal.
All three teams finished the championship pool with identical 6-2 records and Zacharias earned a bye straight through to the final based on tiebreaker scenarios.
Familiar names like Kerri Einarson, who holds the Team Canada auto-berth, and Jennifer Jones, who is off to the Winter Olympics, did not compete in this year’s Manitoba Scotties while world No. 1 Tracy Fleury finished with a 5-3 record and failed to reach the playoff round.
