There will be some new faces in Rock League this season.
Led by No. 1 pick Pablo Lachat-Couchepin, seven players joined the professional curling circuit through the league's first-ever draft, it announced on Monday.
Lachat-Couchepin, who plays lead for Team Yannick Schwaller, joins Frontier Curling Club, which placed last in the inaugural 2026 season.
The Swiss curler replaces Colin Hufman.
"After losing Colin Hufman after the first season, we need a big broom on the ice, and Pablo fits that to a tee. So we're excited to have him," Frontier GM Chris Plys said in a statement.
Brothers Kyle and Craig Waddell were then selected second and third overall by Maple United and Alpine Curling Club, respectively.
"I want to have the versatility," Maple United GM Glenn Howard said after selecting Kyle Waddell, who replaces Mike McEwen. "Kyle's on a very competitive mixed doubles team right now out of Scotland. I think he just fits the bill, and he's very versatile. I can move him around in the four-person (team) very easily."
Craig Waddell is taking Marc Muskatewitz's spot with Alpine.
Taylor Reese-Hansen was the first woman selected at fourth overall to Shield Curling Club.
Frontier then took Sydney Mullaney fifth and Mark Fenner seventh, while Selina Witschonke went sixth overall to Maple.
Northern United and Typhoon Curling Club did not make picks as their rosters remain set from last season.
Season 2 of Rock League begins Jan. 7 in Moose Jaw, Sask., with select games available on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
