Grand Slam of Curling to play Meridian Open in Las Vegas next season

The Grand Slam of Curling is heading to Las Vegas.

The series announced that it will host the Meridian Open in Vegas from Jan. 12 to 17 next year at Orleans Arena as part of the 2020-21 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season.

“Expanding to Las Vegas is an opportunity to showcase the world’s best curlers outside of Canada, while continuing to deliver the high-calibre competition and entertainment curling fans have come to expect of the Grand Slam series,” said Rob Corte, vice-president at Sportsnet and NHL Production.

The 2020-21 circuit will also include the Masters (Oct. 20-25) in Sarnia, Ont., the KIOTI Tractor Tour Challenge (Nov. 3-8) in Grande Prairie, Alta., the BOOST National (Dec. 8-13) in Chestermere, Alta., Princess Auto Players’ Championship (Apr. 13-18) in Toronto and the Humpty’s Champions Cup (Apr. 27- May 2) in TBD.
