YORKTON, Sask. — Ottawa’s Rachel Homan scored a pair of deuces and added a steal of three in five to cruise past Switzerland’s Binia Feltscher 7-3 in seven ends during women’s quarterfinal action at the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling Canadian Open Saturday.

Feltscher’s final shot in the fifth picked and stopped short of the free guard zone. The reigning world champion settled for a single in the sixth and got a steal of one in seven but shook hands.

Homan will face Heather Nedohin in the semifinals. Nedohin scored a trio of three-enders and defeated Chelsea Carey 9-3 in five ends in an all-Edmonton rink match-up to advance.
