After being upset in the 2014 Ontario Tankard last year, Glenn Howard has been eliminated from this year’s tournament after losing twice in the Ontario Challenge Round.

The 52-year-old skipper and his team lost 6-5 to Brent Ross and 8-7 to Scott McDonald in consecutive games to earn an early exit from the competition. The loss comes as something of a shock considering Howard’s stature in Ontario curling.

A four-time World Champion, the Midland, Ont. native had participated provincial championship every year since 2003, representing Ontario at the Brier eight consecutive seasons between 2006 and 2013.

Howard turned down a chance to play in the TSN Skins Game in order to compete in the tournament.
