Fan Fuel: What does it take for fans to stay in their Maple Leafs platinum seats?

BY ADAM DESLOGES – FAN FUEL BLOGGER

Is the sushi really that good? As I sat watching the Carolina Hurricanes take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre last night, I couldn’t help but notice all those empty seats. The seats I refer to are the Platinum seats, the “wish I could afford those” seats. The suits seats.

At a minimum of six minutes at the start of any given period (and that’s being generous) these seats remain empty while I sit at home watching these games. Are people really that bored with the Leafs that they can’t make it back to their seats in time?

Are the business deals so big that suits can’t read paperwork fast enough? Are the TV’s so big below the Platinum seats you would rather watch the game there instead of live?

As the Leafs season continues to unfold like a California roll and Phil Kessel remains scoreless I can’t help but think that something here is fishy.

What am I missing? I know the Leafs are having a horrible season, but to have these luxury seats sit empty is ludicrous. Please someone explain it to me.

What would get you back to your seats in time?
