Fan Fuel: Best NFL fantasy football playoff pickups

BY JAMES HUNT – FAN FUEL BLOGGER

This week marks the end of the regular season for most, if not all NFL fantasy football leagues. Now it’s time to get that lineup of yours fine-tuned for a long playoff run.

If you are like me and you need to fill a few holes, it’s off to the local “waiver wire” store. So let’s have a look and see what we can find.

QUARTERBACK:

If you are looking for a quarterback, look no further than new San Francisco starter Colin Kaepernick. He is coming off of two impressive starts and two impressive wins. There is no reason to believe that Coach Harbaugh will go back to Alex Smith unless CK has an incredibly bad
outing or he suffers an injury.

WIDE RECEIVER:
<br

How about an All-Pro wide receiver? If you dig deep you just might find that Packers WR Greg Jennings is available in your league and if he is, grab this guy as quickly as possible.

Wide receivers Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson and James Jones have done a great job in Jennings absence, but this guy is a beauty and he should be just hitting his stride for Fantasy owners that were wily enough to pick him up.

RUNNING BACK:

Looking for a running back to help you get over the LeSean McCoy blues, or the Willis McGahee blahs… How about Bronco RB Knowshon Moreno. Last week Moreno filled in admirably for McGahee rushing for 85 yards and more importantly, QB Peyton Manning took time out in his post game presser to praise Knowshon efforts… That can never be a bad thing.

BEST OF THE REST:

Here are a few more players that may or may not be available at the “Ye Olde Waiver Wire” store this week.

Washington WR Santana Moss (hit and miss, but lately more hit)

Washington WR Pierre Garcon (just back from injury and a fave of RG3)

Oakland RB Marcel Reece (great job covering for McFadden, could stick)

Philadelphia RB Bryce Brown (nice Monday night game, could be a keeper with McCoy out)

Cleveland WR Josh Gordon (great matchups in week 14 and 15, explosive guy)

Cincinnati WR Mohamed Sanu (having a nice stretch with four TD’s in last three games )

St Louis WR Chris Givens (speed to burn and with Amendola looking iffy, a nice option)

Jacksonville QB Chad Henne (has been a nice surprise since coming in a couple of weeks ago)

Chicago RB Michael Bush (Forte down again, Bush will be the beneficiary)

Pittsburgh RB Jonathan Dywer (looks like Coach Tomlin has chosen Dwyer as the number one)

Good luck everyone!
