The Buffalo Bills will be hosting a playoff game for the first time in 25 years on Saturday afternoon when they take on the Indianapolis Colts in wild-card action as a seven-point betting favourite on the NFL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Buffalo enters the post-season as the No. 2 seed in the AFC and rides a six-game straight-up win streak into Saturday afternoon’s matchup at Bills Stadium. The Bills closed out their best season in 29 years with a 13-3 record, earning them their first AFC East crown since 1995.
Josh Allen has been key to the Bills’ emergence as legitimate championship contenders, as they sport a short line of +600 on the updated Super Bowl 55 odds. With Allen under centre, Buffalo has averaged an impressive 38.2 points during its six-game winning streak. The Bills have also covered in each of their past eight contests, and have seen their past seven victories come by double-digit margins.
The Colts fell just short of the AFC South title but enter the playoffs on a 4-1 straight-up run. Indianapolis has also won outright in four of its last five road games, but has failed to cover in three straight outings. The Colts have also tallied wins in each of their past three Wild Card Weekend matchups, but are winless straight up and against the spread in three trips to Buffalo since 2003.
Later in the day, the Seattle Seahawks host the division-rival Los Angeles Rams as 3.5-point chalk at sports betting sites, while Saturday’s primetime matchup has Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visiting the Washington Football Team as 8.5-point favourites.
The Seahawks overcame a shaky 3-4 straight-up mid-season run to close out their schedule with four straight victories and their first NFC West title in four years. Seattle has surrendered just 12.5 points per game during its current tear, fuelling a 7-1 run for the under in totals betting.
That is bad news for the Rams, who have averaged just 12 points per game during a 1-2 straight-up season-ending run, and are uncertain to have injured quarterback Jared Goff under centre for Saturday’s contest. Los Angeles is also winless in its last two visits to Lumen Field, capped by a 20-9 defeat as a 1.5-point underdog two weeks ago.
And the Buccaneers will make their first playoff appearance in 13 years riding a four-game straight-up winning streak, and have also averaged 38.8 points per game during a five-game straight-up run on the road. Conversely, Washington has tallied just 28 total points in two consecutive home losses, with quarterback Alex Smith battling a calf injury heading into the game.
