MONTREAL — Versatile Montreal Alouettes offensive lineman Skip Seagraves has retired.
The West Point, N.Y., native appeared in 26 games over the last five seasons with Montreal, playing all five offensive line positions as well as tight end and backup long snapper.
The 28-year-old played in three Grey Cup games and won twice.
"Skip has been the ultimate team player," general manager Jim Popp said in a statement. "He is one of the nicest and most polite people you will meet. Unfortunately, injuries have cut his career short and he is making a wise decision to take care of his body and move on."
The Alouettes also signed Canadian long snapper Martin Bedard to a three-year contract. The six-foot-three 240-pound Bedard has had 20 special teams tackles in 36 career games with Montreal.
