Alouettes sign Knox, van Gylswyk and Murray-Lawrence

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes signed linebacker Kyle Knox, kicker Quinn van Gylswyk and running back Shaquille Murray-Lawrence on Monday.

All three players were free agents.

Knox, a six-foot-one, 220-pound American, spent the last two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He had 33 tackles in 17 games last year, including eight as a starter.

Van Gylswyk, a Victoria native, was taken in the third round, No. 26 overall, by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2016 CFL draft. He played in one game with the Riders in 2016, hitting a 54-yard field goal while handling kickoff duties.

The five-foot-eight, 202-pound Murray-Lawrence spent the last three years with the B.C. Lions. rushing for 148 yards on 47 carries and three TDs in 39 games. The Toronto native also added 13 catches for 73 yards while returning 60 kickoffs for 1,288 yards.
