WINNIPEG — Former Winnipeg Blue Bombers team president Jim Bell has been fired as chief operating officer after an organizational restructuring.

Bell had been vice-president and chief operating officer since 2011, after spending two years as president.

He has been with Winnipeg since 2002.

The Bombers announced Bell’s departure Tuesday saying Bell’s position has been eliminated as part of the restructuring process.

His last day is Friday.

"On behalf of the entire organization, I would like to thank Jim for his dedication, work ethic, professionalism, and most importantly, his passion for this Football Club over the past decade-plus," said current Bombers president Wade Miller.
