TORONTO – Bryan Crawford has the chance to go out on top.
The Toronto Argonauts running back, who announced his retirement at the end of the club’s season, was among eight players nominated for the Tom Pate Award. It’s given annually to the CFL player who best exhibits sportsmanship and outstanding contribution to his team and community.
Also nominated were linebacker Walter Spencer of the Montreal Alouettes, quarterback Kevin Glenn of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, offensive lineman Ibby Khan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, linebacker Mike McCullough of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, defensive back Keon Raymond of the Calgary Stampeders, offensive lineman Aaron Fiacconi of the Edmonton Eskimos and safety J.R. LaRose of the B.C. Lions.
The winner will be announced Nov. 24 during the CFL awards banquet in Vancouver.
