Commonwealth Stadium shall now be referred to as “The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium” during Edmonton Eskimos games and team events, the team and The Brick announced Wednesday.

The naming rights partnership is a five-year agreement.

“This is the largest corporate partnership that we have ever formed in our long and proud history,” Eskimos president and CEO Len Rhodes stated in a press release. “With The Brick’s corporate head office located here in Edmonton, this makes us especially proud. The Brick’s commitment to families and the overall community is always apparent and it led to this wonderful relationship. This historic partnership allows us to make a major stride in catering to programs that appeal to parents and their children.”

The partnership is said to include a major upgrade to the game-day experience for families, including a family area called Brickley’s Knothole Corner that will have interactive children’s games, stroller check, face painters, an information booth, a dedicated family merchandise store and more during Eskimos home games. There will also be a Brickley’s Clubhouse indoor suite that will host families from the Stollery Children’s Hospital and community during Eskimos home games in the regular season and playoffs.

“As an Edmonton based company, we are extremely proud of [Wednesday’s] announcement,” Brick Group’s head of brand, advertising, marketing and digital Sheldon Pietrzykowski added. “We continue to grow our relationship with the Edmonton Eskimos and our role in our home community. Brick Field and Brickley’s Knothole Corner will bring a new, exciting family focused experience to Edmonton Eskimo games and events.”

The Eskimos kick off their 2016 regular season at home on June 25 in a Grey Cup rematch against the Ottawa Redblacks.
