Eskimos release Morgan, Brown

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos released defensive back Omarr Morgan and defensive tackle Rob Brown on Tuesday.

Eskimo Head Coach and Director of Football Operations Danny Maciocia says,

"Personnel moves like these are difficult, but necessary in order to work within the CFL’s salary management system," Danny Maciocia, the Eskimos head coach and director of football operations, said in a statement.

Morgan started 16 games in his first season with the Eskimos, finishing with 52 tackles, seven knockdowns, two interceptions and fumble recovery. He came to Edmonton following seven years with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Brown broke into the CFL with Edmonton in ’98. He was dealt to Montreal after four seasons before being traded back to the Eskimos in February 2006. Brown played in 18 games (17 starts) last year, recording 22 tackles, one forced fumble and three sacks.
