Former NFL defensive end Phillip Hunt signs with Eskimos

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos signed former NFL defensive end Phillip Hunt to a contract Tuesday.

The six-foot 248-pound native of Fort Worth, Texas played two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers before leaving for the NFL in 2011. He spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles (2011-13), Indianapolis Colts (2014), Detroit Lions (2015) and New Orleans Saints (2015).

Hunt played in seven games for Winnipeg in 2009, recording three sacks and 10 defensive tackles. He played a full season in 2010 and had 16 sacks and 45 defensive tackles.
