Jamall Lee, who had a terrific four-year career with the Bishop’s Gaiters, has agreed to terms with the CFL’s B.C. Lions, sportsnet.ca has learned.
As a result, one of the greatest running backs in CIS football history has put his NFL hopes on hold.
The Port Coquitlam, B.C. native was a final cut of the Carolina Panthers coming out of training camp and after five weeks of the NFL season was unable to crack a roster south of the border. He had a workout with the Seattle Seahawks last week, but was not offered a contract.
Lee was a first round pick of the Lions in the 2009 CFL draft. His Bishop’s teammate James Yurichuk has already been an impact player as a rookie, also having been taken in the first round by B.C. in April.
