OTTAWA — The Ottawa Redblacks have re-signed fullback Patrick Lavoie to a three-year contract.

The native of Sainte-Flavie, Que., caught 16 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns during the 2015 regular season.

He also opened the scoring of this year’s Grey Cup final, catching a three-yard pass from Henry Burris and shouldering his way into the end zone.

The 28-year-old, who would have been eligible for free agency in February, was selected by Ottawa in the 2013 CFL expansion draft from the Montreal Alouettes.

"I am very happy to be back with the Redblacks organization. This is where I want to play," Lavoie said in a release.

In four seasons with Montreal and Ottawa, Lavoie has 74 receptions for 721 yards and six touchdowns.
