Former NFL running back Trent Richardson has decided not to sign with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, according to AL.com.
A previous report indicated that the 27-year-old was headed to Regina with the intent of finalizing a contract with the team, but Richardson will not do so as signing a deal with the Roughriders would mean he’d be under contract with the Roughriders for two years. With his eyes still set on an NFL return, the term was a deciding factor for Richardson.
The former Alabama running back was reportedly added to Saskatchewan’s negotiation list on July 28.
In 46 career NFL games for the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts, the third-overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft has rushed for 2,032 yards and 17 touchdowns.
