CALGARY — Safety Milt Collins signed a contract extension with the Calgary Stampeders on Thursday.
Collins had 38 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery in 18 regular-season games with the CFL club last year. He added five tackles in two playoff contests.
"Milt is a young, talented player and I’m pleased he wanted to extend his contract with the Stampeders," John Hufnagel, Calgary’s head coach and GM, said in a statement. "He’s very versatile and has been productive in his first two seasons and I look forward to his continued development in 2010 and beyond."
Collins is entering his third season with the Stampeders after joining the team as a free agent in May 2008.
"I’m very happy to sign an extension with Calgary," said Collins. "We’ve got some great coaches here and a great organization overall.
"I’m looking forward to getting the season started and getting back out on the field. Calgary is a great city and I wouldn’t want to play anywhere else."
